NEWS DETAIL
This week marks the fourth week of the first season of World of Warcraft's 11.0 patch, Embers of Neltharion. Two weekly quests are available, both related to the Underground Fort (known as the Vaults). Here’s a quick 20-minute guide to efficiently completing both weekly quests.
Weekly Quest 1: Call of the Vaults
The objective for this quest supports farming a single Underground Vault multiple times—5 runs in total. There doesn’t seem to be a difficulty requirement either. After testing this morning, I found that running Zerkwil's Nest five times will complete the quest, with each run taking about 3-4 minutes. You can even open two weekly reward slots (known as Vaults) along the way!
Key Tips for Zerkwil’s Nest:
Interrupt Despairing Saliva: Failing to interrupt will result in a slowing debuff. Bronzebeard may occasionally help you dispel this, but Paladins can use Blessing of Freedom/Divine Shield, and Druids can shift into cat form to instantly remove it.
Avoid Fearsome Roar: Step out of the purple circle! Failing to avoid this results in 4 seconds of hard crowd control and over 1 million damage. Keep a movement skill handy, as Zerkwil likes to use Roar in close proximity.
Prioritize Spider Web Fiend: You’ll need to burn down 3.4 million health in 20 seconds. Wait until Zerkwil finishes a Claw Strike before focusing on the Fiend, so you don’t get caught by his abilities while you're taking down the Fiend.
Trinket Selection:
If you have high item level, choose the Ceramic Arrowhead Totem or Final Wish Totem for max DPS.
For better survivability, use the Earthmother Totem for more margin for error.
For performance, the Morphing Relic is top-tier, especially the Level 4 version. Whether it triggers size increases or speed boosts, both benefits will give you an edge during combat.
Rewards: You’ll receive a 597+ item level piece of Champion’s gear. According to the drop table, it’s not particularly amazing, but it’s still something.
Weekly Quest 2: Vaults: Kaz'aga Research
This quest doesn’t support farming a single Vault repeatedly. Testing showed that even after running Zerkwil’s Nest five times, the quest only counted it once. It seems you’ll need to complete three different Vaults to fulfill this objective.
Bonus Tip: The Weekly Vault can drop Veteran Gear (up to twice per week), Repaired Treasure Keys (up to four times), and a large sum of gold. Even if you aren’t aiming for the 597 gear, you should complete three different Vaults for the gold, especially if you have multiple characters!
By following this guide, you can efficiently complete both weekly quests in just around 20 minutes. Happy vault running, and good luck with your loot!
