In World of Warcraft: Embers of Neltharion, this Timewalking event focuses on Ulduar, where players can craft Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings. Classes eligible to wield or collect Val'anyr fragments include Paladins, Priests, Shamans, Monks, Druids, and Evokers. Below are the four steps required to forge this legendary hammer.

Step 1: Collect 30 Val'anyr Fragments

All Ulduar bosses, except Algalon the Observer, have a chance to drop Val'anyr fragments. Defeating bosses with hard modes increases the chance to get a fragment from their hard-mode reward chests. The final boss, Yogg-Saron, guarantees one fragment drop.

Step 2: Combine 30 Val'anyr Fragments into the Broken Val'anyr

After collecting 30 fragments, you can complete the quest "Ancient History."

• Use the Ulduar teleporter to reach the Antechamber of Ulduar.

• Walk straight ahead toward the Iron Council’s room and turn left to reach the Archivum Console.

• After handing in the quest, accept "Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings."

  
  

The "heroic mode" in the quest refers to defeating Yogg-Saron on hard mode without engaging any of Ulduar's Keepers for assistance. It's important to note that Ulduar only has normal and Timewalking difficulties.

Step 3: Use the Shattered Val'anyr During Yogg-Saron's Deafening Roar

During Phase 3 of the fight, when you exit the portal after defeating the Brain of Yogg-Saron, use the Shattered Val'anyr on him during his Deafening Roar ability. Here are some tips for this step:

• Face away from Yogg-Saron during Lunatic Gaze to avoid losing sanity.

• He frequently summons adds; avoid large AoE attacks.

• Stand near and target Yogg-Saron, as the range to use the shattered fragment is short. If you miss the Deafening Roar, you’ll need to wait for him to cast it again.

Step 4: Return to the Archivum Console to Complete the Quest

Upon returning, you’ll complete the quest and receive the legendary hammer Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings, as well as a Feat of Strength achievement!
