Guide to Crafting Weapons in World of Warcraft: Patch 11.0 Depths of the Earth
Sep-13-2024

In the latest World of Warcraft 11.0 patch, Depths of the Earth, crafting continues the system introduced in Dragonflight, splitting crafting into various branches. To craft the highest-grade weapons, you must fully invest in the corresponding branches. Here’s a guide on how to craft weapons, which anyone can learn without having to spend a large amount of gold on commissioning others.

Weapon Crafting Guide for Depths of the Earth

First, you’ll need an alt character capable of learning professions. The character only needs to be level 70 and have access to the new map; no special requirements are necessary.

  1. Purchasing Materials from the Auction House

Start by buying the necessary materials from the Auction House to prepare for crafting. Here’s a checklist:

  • Forging Tools: Buy the cheapest versions of the tools: Master Blacksmith’s Hammer, Steel Apron, and Master Blacksmith’s Toolbox. These should cost no more than 1000 gold.

  • Required Materials: Again, aim for the cheapest, as quality stars are not a concern:

Total cost: around 10,000 gold, though this may vary slightly by server and market timing.

    • Bismuth Ore: 200 units (~4200 gold)

    • Matalclaw Ore: 60 units (~700 gold)

    • Yakki Ore: 6 units (~75 gold)

    • Crystal Dust: 20 units (~100 gold)

    • Heart Core Alloy: 20 units (~3600 gold)

2. Leveling Your Profession

After preparing, head to the Dawnoggar map to find a trainer and learn the Blacksmithing profession. Then, go to the Crafting Order Room at coordinates (56, 47), talk to the Master Artisan, and pick up a quest to get 350 artisan materials.

It’s recommended to learn Enchanting as a second profession because crafting weapons will require materials crafted from enchantments, specifically enchantment crests.

Then, use the materials at the workbench near the Blacksmithing trainer to start leveling up your skill. First, buy 200 Echo Fusion Agents from the vendor near the trainer and start crafting 12 "Heart Core Alloy" items. Craft everything that gives you a "First Craft" bonus to maximize skill points.

Note: Skip crafting items that require "Void Stones," as these are expensive and don’t impact your progression. Use the crafting filters to easily find all “First Craft” bonus items.

Once you finish crafting all the recipes from the trainer, you should reach around 50 skill points and gain 29 specialization points.

3. Obtaining Crucial Specialization Points

  • Visit the artisan room (56, 47) and purchase 10 Blacksmithing Specialization Points for 200 artisans.

  • If you’ve reached level 12 Dawnoggar Renown, you can also buy 10 more points from the Renown vendor.

  • If your Renown isn’t high enough, don’t worry; there are other ways to gather points.

There are treasure chests scattered across the four maps that grant 3 specialization points each. Collecting seven of these will net you 21 points. Here are the locations of these treasure chests:

  1. At (47.6, 26.3) in Dawnoggar, find the "Hammer of Enoggar."

  2. At (59.8, 61.9) in the Isle of Dawn, find the "Ancient Earthen Anvil."

  3. At (60.5, 53.8) in the Roaring Depths, find the "Earthen Chisel."

  4. At (47.6, 61.0) in Sanctum Valley, find the "Holy Flame Forge."

  5. At (44.0, 55.6) in Sanctum Valley, find the "Radiant Pliers."

  6. At (53.0, 51.3) inside a building in Aegis-Kahter, find the "Spiderling Wire Brush."

  7. At (46.5, 22.8) in Aegis-Kahter, find the "Spidermane Blacksmith’s Repair Kit."

Finally, in Aegis-Kahter (46.5, 22.8), buy an additional 10 Blacksmithing Specialization Points from the mining and blacksmithing vendor. You’ll need "Keystones" to purchase these points, which can be obtained by opening random treasure chests on the map. Transfer 565 keystones from your main character to purchase them.

At this point, you should have at least 70 specialization points. From here, you can choose which weapon specialization branch to focus on based on your crafting goals.

Summary:This guide details the crafting process for high-level weapons in Depths of the Earth. By following these steps, you can easily craft a 639 weapon without spending excessive gold on commissioning others. For more guides, stay tuned to the 17173 World of Warcraft section.
