As the Dracthyr venture into the Dragon Isles, they encounter new races and abilities, expanding their growth opportunities. With the 20th-anniversary content update, newly created Dracthyr characters can now choose from six different classes: Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warrior, and Warlock. Players can embark on a new career path as a Dracthyr, choosing to fight in either their Dracthyr or Visage forms, with the ability to toggle between forms at will. Additionally, players can enable the “Face-Shift” feature, which allows automatic switching to Dracthyr form during combat and back to Visage form when out of combat, providing seamless immersion between their dragon and humanoid identities.

While most of the Evoker’s abilities emphasize the dragon aspect, making Dracthyr form critical in combat, Blizzard is now expanding class options, giving players even more versatility in how they approach battles and role-play. With these new class unlocks, Blizzard is also making important changes to the Dracthyr racial traits and abilities to ensure balance.

1. Race - Dracthyr 

• Tail Swipe: Cooldown extended to 3 minutes (previously 1.5 minutes).

• Wing Buffet: Cooldown extended to 3 minutes (previously 1.5 minutes). When used in Visage form, a wing effect will now appear around the character.

• Tail Swipe and Wing Buffet no longer automatically shift the character to Dracthyr form, except for the Evoker class.

  
  

2. Class - Evoker

• Bludgeoning Sweep: Now reduces the cooldown of Tail Swipe by 2 minutes (previously reduced by 45 seconds).

• Heavy Wings: Now reduces the cooldown of Wing Buffet by 2 minutes (previously reduced by 45 seconds).

• Bone-Chilling Cold: Now a baseline Dracthyr ability.

• Heavy Wings and Bludgeoning Sweep are no longer choice nodes and have been repositioned in the class talent tree.

  
  

3. New Ability - Soaring Squad

Dracthyr players can now learn the new soaring talent Soaring Squad, which allows up to two additional Dracthyr players to join you in formation flight while you soar through the skies, creating exciting new possibilities for group exploration and dynamic gameplay experiences.
