A hidden mechanism in the Abundant Mode of the dungeon has been discovered.

According to reports from foreign players, after clearing the Abundant Mode dungeon and using the "Restored Chest Key" to open the Abundant Chest, players can sometimes receive a one-time reward of 1000 faction reputation points.

Since most players have decided to save their "Restored Chest Key" until the first season of Depths of the Earth officially launches (September 12 for the Chinese servers), the specifics of this hidden mechanism are still being explored. Here’s a summary of the gathered information:

•   Prerequisites: Clear the Abundant Mode dungeon and use the "Restored Chest Key" to open the Abundant Chest.

  
  

•   Reward Mechanism: Each time you open the Abundant Chest, the system will randomly select one of the following four factions to reward you with 1000 reputation points: the Council of Dornoghal, Coalition of Sootrock, Arathi of the Holy Rift, or Silkshred. This reward is account-bound and cannot be obtained multiple times from the same faction, but you may randomly receive a reward from a faction you’ve already completed.

In other words, the first time you open the Abundant Chest, you have a 100% chance of getting 1000 reputation points from any one faction. On the second chest, you only have a 75% chance of receiving the reward. By the third chest, the chance drops to 50%, and by the fourth, it's 25%. If you're lucky, you only need to clear the Abundant dungeon 4 times and use 4 "Restored Chest Keys" to max out the 1000 reputation points for each faction.

If you have the 10% reputation buff from the Darkmoon Faire while opening the Abundant Chest, the reward will increase to 1100 reputation points.

Currently, this seems to be a one-time reputation reward and will not reset after weekly maintenance. Since more challenging dungeons and better Abundant Chest rewards will be available once the first season starts on September 12, it is recommended to avoid wasting the keys on your main character and instead use them on an alt if you wish to gain reputation now.

You can copy and paste the following command into the in-game chat box to check which faction reputations you’ve already gained:

• Council: Council of Dornoghal

• Assembly: Coalition of Sootrock

• Spooders: Silkshred

“Yes” indicates you've already earned the reward for that faction, while “No” means you haven't.

If you haven't opened any Abundant Chests, this command will not show any feedback.
